About Us
Meet our Founder Teya.
Teya is a mum of two children living in Geelong. She lives and breaths all things pregnancy and is a self-confessed Birth Nerd.
The concept for Me Mama I was spawned following her own two pregnancy and birth journeys.
“I had two very positive birth experiences in a Hospital setting. What we know though, is that this is not the case for many women and I am passionate about providing a platform that not only supports women with their practical needs throughout their pregnancy journey, but one that offers resources, information and connection. That’s why it was important for me to go beyond products and services and offer a space for pregnant women to connect via our private Facebook group in very much the same capacity that you would with a Mother’s Group following birth. To me it makes sense that we build our communities or our village early on in our journey as the support is very much needed through every stage not just when we become mothers”.
The name of our business Me Mama I, was chosen to reflect the many stages of ourselves and the identity shifts we experience as we transition through pregnancy into motherhood. Always grounded by the sense that we are still and always will (and can) be our individual selves even when we feel like we’re lost deep in the trenches of pregnancy or motherhood.
If this is you, know that this is something that so many other mothers and expecting mothers all relate to. You are amazing. And you have got this. But if you feel like you need support, it is available through organisations such as PANDA or COPE. Or if you’re looking for a little connection and relatability, come find our Facebook group and connect with other pregnant women.
